The Employee Conduct Covenant
Pebblecreek Montessori • Sep 11, 2020

Every employee who is part of the Wonderland group of schools must agree to the following statements and will be asked to acknowledge these statements are fully understood and will be followed.

Policies relating to kindness and safety will always be our top priority.

  • I will not force a child against their will – not to eat, to sleep, to sit, to stand etc.
  • I will use kind, soft, and gentle hands.
  • I will use kind words.
  • I will speak to every child as I speak to adults and will not use “baby talk”.
  • I will not yell or scream at any child for any reason.
  • I will not force a child to share, but will instead encourage and model a mindset of giving.
  • I will not do for a child what he can do for himself and will allow time and opportunity for each child to succeed.
  • I will be patient at all times.
  • I will respect the body of each child and allow them the ability to make choices regarding their own body.
  • I will respond to mistakes with grace, NEVER laughing at, shaming, or punishing a child.
  • I will respect each child’s privacy and will not speak ill of a child, especially in his or her presence.
  • I will LISTEN, allowing a child time and space to speak for themselves NEVER speaking for them, interrupting, or finishing sentences for them.
  • I will make eye contact and speak at the child’s level in a calm and pleasant voice.
  • I will model grace and courtesy by always using polite manners.
  • I will use encouraging words instead of praise.
  • I will accept each child for who they are, knowing that I can teach them skills but cannot change them.
