Assistant Teacher - Nido/Infant (Montessori)

Pebblecreek Montessori servs students 8 weeks to 6 years through adherence to Maria Montessori’s philosophy and is AMI Recognized.


Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Lead Guide at all times (during work cycle, enabling them to focus on instructional time without interruptions. Assistants work very closely to the Lead Guide and act as their "right hand")
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organized classroom environment
  • Managing physical care of children (including diapering and toileting)
  • Assists children with organizing materials and bringing tasks to completion
  • Constant communication with children in a firm, yet loving and kind presence and upholding a calm patient environment
  • Communicates with Lead Guide regarding all aspects of the children and classroom. (Management)
  • Ensure the daily care of every child by following all school/ classroom procedures and standards as well as all licensing guidelines
  • Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the school at all times.
  • Keep up with required training hours & certifications according to licensing


Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Sit comfortably on the floor with children and on low chairs
  • Bend, squat, kneel, move and organize classroom furniture as needed
  • Experience working with children 0-6 years, preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with the Montessori approach, preferred, but not required


***Schedule: 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Lead Teacher - Infant (Nido Montessori Guide)

Pebblecreek Montessori servs students 8 weeks to 6 years through adherence to Maria Montessori’s philosophy and is AMI Recognized.


Lead Guide Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and managing the classroom.
  • Overseeing the classroom environment, children, and Assistant Teacher. Maintaining a safe, clean and organized classroom environment
  • Supervises assistant to ensure they are contributing to the peaceful, prepared environment
  • Conducts Parent Conferences twice per year
  • Managing physical care of children (including diapering and toileting)
  • Provides lessons to the children with organizing materials and bringing tasks to completion
  • Constant communication with children in a firm, yet loving and kind presence and upholding a calm patient environment
  • Communicates important information to Assistant Guide regarding aspects of the children and classroom. (Management)
  • Ensure the daily care of every child by following all school/ classroom procedures and standards as well as all licensing guidelines
  • Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the school at all times.
  • Keep up with required training hours & certifications according to licensing

Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must hold an AMI or AMS Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree of Higher
  • Minimum of 3-years of experience working with children in a Montessori environment (preferred)
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds

**Lead Guide Schedule: 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
